Xbox Head Phil Spencer says Company is ‘Focused on Gamers’

Following his recent comments about how the Xbox One may never outsell the PS4, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has again broached the subject of Microsoft’s vision for the Xbox platform and how this is affected by the competition. In short, he says it’s not.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/68/Halo_Guardians.pngIn a series of tweets to fans’ questions Mr Spencer made it clear that “Our long term Xbox vision isn’t about competitors it’s about gamers”. In terms of games, Microsoft says the Xbox One will welcome the best lineup of games in recent memory, while the company will launch the New Xbox One Experience dashboard update in November. Among other things, this introduces the long overdue backwards compatibility support for Xbox 360 titles.

Spencer has gone on record as saying the PS4 has a “huge lead” over the Xbox One in terms of sales however he was quick to make clear that “We’re not motivated by beating Sony, we’re motivated by gaining as many customers as we can.”

Both the PS4 and Xbox One have dropped their prices recently and are creating bundles for the upcoming Christmas season and as usual there is no way to see who will come out on top but there is something that may swing the balance. While both consoles will have COD as a big seller, you can only play Halo 5: Guardians (out October 27th) on Xbox One and when Master Chief starts talking everyone stands to attention.
