Now that the new generation have become Genin and separated into their respective three-man teams, there has been something that’s been bothering me.
As we all know, the anime mainly focuses on Team 7 which consists of Boruto, Sarada and Mitsuki along with Team 10 which consists of Shikadai, Inojin and Cho Cho. There are a few others but there is one particular child who has gained my interest and I would like to learn his backstory. I would also like to know who exactly his parents are. That child is none other than Houki Taketori. If you don’t know who Houki is take a look at the image below.
Most of the community hasn’t really paid attention to Houki because he is an afterthought just like the rest of the new generation. My main reason for my new found curiosity is the fact that he looks similar to the sixth hokage, Kashashi Hatake.
Of course, the name doesn’t match and neither does the hair. There is also the fact neither Masashi Kishimoto nor Ukyou Kodanchi ever said that Kakashi was involved with someone or if he had any children. We still have no idea who Metal Lee’s mother is even though we assume it’s Ten Ten or who the father of Gaara’s child might be.
Most likely this is just some random child who Ukyou Kodanchi drew to fill up the new generation roster and nothing more. However it’s not just Houki who has my interest – the rest of the generation piques my curiosity as well.
Unlike part 1 of Naruto we were introduced to all of the Konaha eleven, this time around I’m not so confident that the rest of the new generation will get any screen time or backstory which will be a shame and a terrible mistake.
Hopefully I am wrong and with the upcoming arc we will finally get some backstory in the rest of the cast and see what they can do.
