Universal Studios has released the final trailer for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw which you can watch for yourself below:
If you want my opinion, the action scenes shown in this trailer are so bizarrely over the top but I cannot help but smile. This film reminds me of how we used to play with our Hot Wheels & Matchbox cars when we were kids. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham reprise their roles as the titular Hobbs & Shaw and it looks like they still cannot stand each other. Idris Elba plays Brixton – a genetically modified superhuman with some nefarious plot that would end billions of lives.
Let’s be real, we don’t watch these films to see The Rock grapple with issues of great power and greater responsibility. We want to watch him take down helicopters and throw down a beating on the bad guys and it looks like this film delivers the action in spades.
By the way, after this flick you won’t see The Rock in a Fast & Furious film for at least a couple of years. He will not be in Fast & Furious 9 which has already begun production.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw will be released on August 2nd. Check back with The Inner Circle for our review.
