The fine folks over at Universal released the latest trailer for Dolittle on YouTube yesterday. I hesitate to call this a “new” trailer as it is the same one that was shown before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters last month. In any case, you can watch the trailer for yourself below:
Personally, I think signing Downey for the role of the titular Dolittle was a stroke of genius. Who better to play an eccentric doctor and scientist than Downey who has spent a deacde playing Tony Stark for the Marvel cinematic universe? Downey will not be taking on this adventure alone though. The movie boasts a star-studded line up of talent to give voice to all of the animal sidekicks who will join the good doctor. These voice actors include Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Antonio Banderas and Emma Thompson. The film is directed by Stephen Gaghan while Sarah Bradshaw serves as Executive Producer. If that name rings a bell, you probably saw her work in films such as Maleficent or Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
The trailer for Dolittle packs a suprising amount of action when compared to previous films based on the character of Dr. Dolittle. I mean, there is a damned fire breathing dragon! It has been a long while since I have seen Eddie Murphy’s take on the character but I sure as Hell do not remember a dragon back then.
Dolittle will officially premiere on January 17th. If you enjoy my analysis of film then be sure to check back with The Inner Circle for my review of the movie.
