Junji Ito’s horror manga Uzumaki will be getting an anime adaptation. The studio that will be behind the production of the series will be none other than Production IG. You may know them from their past work on Guilty Crown, Kuroko’s no Basket, Psycho-Pass, and Ao Haru Ride, just to name a few. To get more of a feel for what to expect, the story follows Shuichi Saito and girlfriend Kirie Goshima who lives in Kurouzu-cho, which is a small town on the coast of Japan that is cursed. What they later find out is their small town is not haunted by a ghost or some other demonic entity, but a series of patterns Uzumaki spiral. Which is a hypnotic secret shape of the world.
