I feel like I have spent months talking about how excited I was for this movie. How it was going to do well in a dismal box office. The movie It has just stolen the box office away this weekend with a $117 million opening.
The horror movie has descended on the box office with an impressive opening weekend. The movie follows the story of a group of friends trying to find this “clown” who has been terrorizing the small town of Derry for centuries. It’s up to the Losers club to put an end to this evil. This is also just the first part to the story. I could go into some more detail as to what this movie is about but that would give away the good parts. As you can see from the reviews, the movie is worth watching in theaters. The movie has now become the highest opening movie for September and the Fall season. Home Again was the other movie that released this weekend. This movie grossed $9 million this weekend. Pennywise was just unstoppable this weekend.
Weekend Top Five
5. Wind River $3.3 million
4. Annabelle: Creation $4 million

Now that the awful box office drought known as August is finally over, we can look to the Fall and Winter movies. Next weekend All I See Is You, American Assassin, and Mother! will be looking to take the number one spot. Some of the most recent trailers include Daddy’s Home 2, Insidious: The Last Key, and a new Fifty Shades movie.
