THQ Nordic Acquires Alone in the Dark and Act of War IPs

THQ Nordic acquires Alone in the Dark and Act of War IPs! THQ Nordic has acquired even more IPs and they don’t appear to be stopping anytime soon. This time, they’ve purchased some older Atari properties. Alone in the Dark is a survival-horror series, while Act of War was an RTS brand. This announcement came via THQ Nordic’s Twitter account.

THQ Nordic acquires Alone in the Dark and Act of War IPs:

THQ Nordic has acquired quite a few IPs, including purchasing Koch Media, the parent company of publisher Deep Silver. They’ve also grabbed the Timesplitters IP and recently acquired Kingdoms of Amalur, though EA still owns the publishing rights for that IP.

With THQ Nordic grabbing all of these IPs, it raises questions about when we could see any possible games. Games take time to develop, so these are likely calculated moves to put them in a good position of possibilities when the next generation of consoles arrive. While they might not have enough internal studios to develop every IP they purchase, the door is opened to collaborations with other developers. Regardless though, it’s good to see that the IPs won’t be dying and that we even have the possibility of more games in the future now.
