Today we learned from a leaflet, distributed by 20th Century Fox, that Wolverine 3 could be aiming for an R rating in the US. The movie, which is scheduled to come out in 2017, may follow the lead of the studio’s other film Deadpool which was not only R rated but had one of the biggest opening weekends of any superhero film ever.
It has been confirmed by Hugh Jackman that Wolverine 3 will be his last outing in the adamantium claws, having played the character for a total of seven films. All previous movie portrayals have been PG-13 an so far 20th Century Fox has not commented on any speculation regarding the rating.
