The Witcher Series Sold Over 20 Million Copies

CDProjektRed during their annual Investors Briefing bared some interesting figures in regards to their Witcher series. According to the Developer, they sold over 20 Million units of the Witcher series since its launch in 2007. The game received universal praise. The latest installment of the series called Wild Hunt (The Witcher 3) sold well into 6 Million units.

Interestingly, more than half of the company’s revenues came from Digital Sales, even though just over 60% of total game sales were Physical. CDProjektRed didn’t break down sales by platform, however it’s safe to assume a majority of their sales have been on PC since the series launched.

Future plans also include the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming highly anticipated game from CDProjectRed, and the release of another AAA title by 2021.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on Xbox One and other platforms. The Witcher 2 is also available on Xbox One via Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility.
