While the Suicide Squad are lighting up the box office, two of its biggest members have just been announced for Injustice 2. Harley Quinn and Deadshot were revealed today at GamesCom; a shiny new gameplay trailer was released alongside their reveals. The trailer features the two characters in action, showcasing their moves and combos.
Harley Quinn is a returning character from the first Injustice and it appears that she retains quite a few of her moves from said game. But it looks like she has a couple new moves utilizing the bat she used in Suicide Squad in addition to her iconic hammer from the cartoons. Her pet hyenas, Bud and Lou, are also now a part of her moveset; they seem to be atleast used in her super move, but they might be used elsewhere too.
Deadshot is a new character to the Injustice series and he seems like a worthy addition. The gun for hire has a very interesting moveset that it mostly based around guns; his moves are a ton of over-the-top trick shots, he even does the coolest no-scope ever.
Harley and Deadshot are the only Suicide Squad members revealed so far, but there’s nothing saying we won’t get more. I personally think Boomerang, Katana and Killer Croc could all be great characters in a fighting game. Katana could be based off of all the various swordsman in fighting games, Killer Croc could replace Bane and Boomerang would have one of the most unique movesets in the game.
Injustice 2 is set to release in early 2017 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
