The Number One Reason to Own a PlayStation 4

With the launch of the Xbox One and PS4 behind us, and a clear winner emerged with gamers, it’s time to examine the only reason there is to own a PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 launched back in 2013 and took the world by storm, grabbing a huge chunk in marketshare and becoming the defacto standard. But up to this point there wasn’t a clear reason to own one. You could play specific games at higher resolutions than you might get on other platforms, but that’s not a good enough reason to fork over $400 for a console, when you cannot clearly discern the difference between 900p, 1080p and PC Ultra settings footage as proven by Gamespot.

Well why would a person like myself buy a PlayStation 4 in the first place? Well for one reason alone: Ratchet and Clank

The game which launched on the PlayStation 2, grabbed the attention and hearts of millions of gamers like myself. When Insomniac Games revealed that they will launch a remade version of the classic series, I sat up and perked my ears. After playing the Original, and falling in love with Sunset Overdrive, the Xbox One Exclusive title which caused mass panic when it launched, I was extremely excited.

Insomniac Games have a specific style in how they develop games and write exciting stories for their games, and Ratchet and Clank is their crown jewel. If there was ever a reason to own a specific console, you only have to check what Insomniac are doing, and you will find a great reason. Ratchet and Clank launched on the PlayStation 4 with critical acclaim this month, and with good reason. Not only did they not release a dreary remake, they launched a game that not only borrows from the extremely exciting Sunset Overdrive, but improves upon one of the best PlayStation 2 games by brightening up graphics. Everything in the game reminds you of the day you sat in front of your PlayStation 2 and hammered down on some machine NPC units, so you can collect more bots so you can get that sweet new weapon or upgrade.

Ratchet and Clank is available on PlayStation 4 right now at a mere $40.
