Fable Legends was initially scheduled to appear in Microsoft’s 2015 holiday lineup. Here we are, half way through December and not a peep about the game or an open beta yet.
There is still much speculation on Fable Legends’ release date and it doesn’t seem as if the will be playable this year.
The game deviates from its predecessors. Fable Legends is a multiplayer title with asymmetrical gameplay, which pit one player controlling traps and hordes of enemies to fend off a team of heroes trying to push their way to the final goal. The four-versus-one title is slated to be a free-to-play title and will have Xbox One and Windows 10 cross-platform support.
Microsoft considers Fable Legends as a “service-based title in closed beta” and wants to open the game to everyone by ensuring it’s a great gameplay experience. Reports suggest that the closed beta is expanding and Microsoft will likely share some details soon. The game’s developer, Lionhead Studios, confirmed that Fable 4 is not in development and is focused entirely on Fable Legends.
No release date has been announced.
