A new trailer has been released for the the 2016 remake The Magnificent Seven starring Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Haley Bennett, Lee Byung-hun, Vincent D’Onofrio, Matt Bomer and Peter Sarsgaard. The film is a remake of the 1960 film of the same name which tells the story of seven mercenaries that are hired by a village to protect them from Calvera, himself the leader of a band of outlaws.
The Magnificent Seven trailer has gained much attention online and it looks like this film will be a really good popcorn flick for September. The movie is being directed by Antoine Fuqua who also helmed SouthPaw, The Equalizer and Olympus Has Fallen.
Films in the Western genre have been making a come back in Hollywood recently ever since the release of Quentin Tarantino’s, multi-Oscar winning, Django Unchained. Since 2012 we have had The Lone Ranger (starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer), A Million Ways To Die In The West (by Seth Macfarlane), Bone Tomahawk (starring Patrick Wilson and Kurt Russell), The Hateful Eight (again by Quentin Tarantino featuring an all star Hollywood cast), Jane Got A Gun (with Natalie Portman) and last year’s The Revenant which won Leonardo DiCaprio his much sought Oscar.
