Films in the Western genre have been making a come back in Hollywood recently ever since the release of Quentin Tarantino’s, multi-Oscar winning, Django Unchained. Since 2012 we have had The Lone Ranger (starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer), A Million Ways To Die In The West (by Seth Macfarlane), Bone Tomahawk (starring Patrick Wilson and Kurt Russell), The Hateful Eight (again by Quentin Tarantino featuring an all star Hollywood cast), Jane Got A Gun (with Natalie Portman) and last year’s The Revenant which won Leonardo DiCaprio his much sought Oscar.
With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue, the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Washington), Josh Farraday (Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Hawke), Jack Horne (D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Lee), Vasquez (Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
