Stan Lee Has Died at 95 Years Old

We’ve got heartbreaking news to share today. According to TMZ, Stan Lee has died at 95 years old. TMZ was informed by Stan Lee’s daughter Joan. An ambulance took Stan from his home in Hollywood Hills to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he passed away.

Joan told TMZ “My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man.”

Stan Lee’s role and influence in comics as a whole cannot be overstated, co-creating many characters alongside Jack Kirby such as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, the X-Men and many, many more. He stopped personally writing comics in 1972, shifting into the role of publisher at Marvel Comics.

Stan Lee served as the Editor-in-Chief at Marvel Comics for years, before later serving as publisher and chairman. Even after he stepped down, he was widely considered to be the figurehead for Marvel for decades.

Stan Lee often made cameo appearances in films based on Marvel properties, such as the many films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the recent Sony Pictures film Venom. He also made a cameo in the recent PlayStation 4 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man, which has sold incredibly well.

We wish condolences to Stan Lee’s friends and family during this extremely difficult time.
