Microsoft may not have a press conference at Gamescom this year but that doesn’t mean we will have to wait until E3 2017 for big announcements for Xbox One. When asked via Twitter if there would be any more Xbox conferences in 2016, Phil Spencer replied that they have some things to say this fall and that they will find the right times.
I'll miss Gamescom but @aarongreenberg will be there. We will have things to say this Fall, we'll find the right times.

Another fan asked for additional details and Spencer commented that he wants to see Xbox fans that they haven’t visited before and reiterated that they have some announcements to make by the end of 2016.

Gamescom is not the only major video game expo scheduled for the second half of this year. Tokyo Game Show will be in September and there will be Paris Games Week in October. Given the Xbox One’s virtually nonexistent market share in Japan, it is safe to say to rule out Tokyo Game Show as a venue for major upcoming Xbox announcements. That leaves Paris Games Week as a strong possibility but Microsoft may also opt to host their own event. This conference will likely occur in late September or October before the holiday shopping season begins.
