Sony May Part With Movie Business

Rumors are beginning to surface about Sony’s possible interest in selling of the movie entertainment side of the company. This speculation began after Kaz Hirai announced that he would be stepping down from his position as the Chief Executive Officer of Sony. The good thing about this news at the moment is that the stock prices for the company have risen six percent by the end of the day’s trading. This jump was credited to the speculation that Spider-Man and more could be for sale.

Now we wont actually know anything until the new CEO of Sony takes over operations of the company. If Sony does try to sell the tv and movie side of the company then maybe the Marvel properties will just revert back to Disney. Given that Disney is still waiting approval for purchasing Fox properties, it may not be Disney who buys out Sony. This is just all speculation that Marvel will finally own all the rights to characters they created and someone will own the rights to movies like Jumanji and Ghostbusters.

Usually I ask you, the reader, to take these things with a grain of salt. I’m going to do the same for this news unless an actual announcement is made.
