Taking a detour into cartoon territory may have not been the best decision for the Sonic the Hedgehog series when it intended to have licensed games this time, as noted by the overwhelmingly negative reception Rise of Lyric received in particular. Keep in mind there was one other game that was released during that time: Shattered Crystal, for the Nintendo 3DS. Faring better than the former, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal is getting a sequel (titled Fire & Ice) in September to coincide with the second season of the television show.
And as E3 draws near, SEGA has released a new trailer for Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice.
It’s not the most impressive trailer by any means, nor does it show a whole lot that’s new in comparison to the trailer released last year, but it’s still an intriguing watch, if only to see the gameplay itself.
Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will release on September 2016 and those that pre-order will receive a DVD that contains three episodes of the cartoon series.
