Shenmue III Has Been Delayed for Further Improvements

The highly anticipated title Shenmue III has been delayed. As announced this morning by Deep Silver, they are pushing the target window back to polish up the game and provide the highest quality content possible.

Here’s the wording of the announcement that Shenmue III has been delayed:

Deep Silver today announce that their upcoming release Shenmue III has been moved and will now release in 2019.

The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe.

Shenmue III was announced during the 2015 E3 conference, as well as Shenmue I and II slated to be re-released sometime in 2018. The announcement of the Shenmue III delay also happens on the same day that Metro: Exodus is delayed. The third installment in the Metro franchise, Metro: Exodus is also being published by Deep Silver. You can find more info here. This certainly calls into question whether or not titles like Darksiders III or Biomutant are next.
