It may be hard to believe but Windows 10 is celebrating its first birthday in a couple of weeks. In typical Microsoft fashion, it may be their celebration but you get some free goodies. Here’s a list of free game content and events you can take advantage of right now.
Our friends at Mojang are offering a free rollercoaster map pack for Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition beta (note that the game is still available for under ten dollars.) Microsoft describes the map pack as being full of, “all kinds of crazy visuals and builds.”
Speaking of Minecraft, Episode 1 of Minecraft: Story Mode is also free from the Windows 10 store (sorry, Xbox One owners.) If you enjoy the game then you can buy episodes 2-5 for 50% off.
Age of Empires: Castle Siege can take advantage of free in-game boosts and giveaways to speed up the development of your kingdom and wage war on your fellow players.
The Best of Windows contest lets you pick your favorite games, movies, music and television shows from the Windows 10 store. Ten winners will score a $50 gift card for the Windows 10 store.

In the mood for a free weekend movie? Microsoft is offering a free rental of School of Rock starring Jack Black. Claim the movie rental now and you’ll have up to 14 days to watch it. Remember that once you start watching the movie you have 24 hours to finish it.
The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is scheduled to release on August 2nd.
