Siliconera recently interviewed Mitsutoshi Sakurai, president and CEO of Spike Chunsoft. While the full interview will be available later, for now they have shared that the company intends on releasing Robotics;Notes in the West.
Robotics;Notes is the third main entry in 5pb.’s popular Science Adventure series, though it tells its own standalone tale. The story takes place in 2019, which was a slightly more distant future when the visual novel originally released in 2012. With their school’s robot club in danger of shutting down, its two sole members decide to build a giant fighting robot to save it.
While the game is currently available on PS3, Xbox 360, and Vita in Japan, there is no word yet on what platforms the upcoming localization will launch on. Similarly, the release date is unknown as well. For those who can not wait, Funimation has already localized an animated adaptation of the visual novel.
