Resident Evil 2 Remake Greenlit

After countless years of demand, Resident Evil 2 is finally getting a remake! The producer of the game, Yoshiaki Hirabyashi, announced in a video that the remake has finally been greenlit and that production will start soon. He comments  “It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved. The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans’ passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want.”

Resident Evil 2 follows iconic heroes Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they try to escape from the zombie infested, Raccoon City. The game was released in 1998 and at first it was only available on the Play Station; it was as later ported to the Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Dreamcast and PC.

While no platforms have been announced as of now, it can be assumed that the Resident Evil 2 remake will come out on Xbox One, Play Station 4 and PC much like the remake of the first Resident Evil.
