The Resident Evil 2 Remake is definitely one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2019. Resident Evil 2 originally released back on January 21, 1998, and is often considered a fan favorite. Now 21 years later, on January 25th, 2019, we will get to relive the fear in a complete from the ground up remake. Rebuilt from the ground up in the RE engine from Resident Evil VII, this remake looks to be setting the gold standard for remakes going forward.
Thanks to TrueAchievements we have data that shows that a demo for the upcoming remake is on the horizon. It is supposed to launch at the beginning of the year and is a 30 minute 1-Shot Demo. To clarify, if you die you can still keep playing the demo, however there is a 30-minute timer that counts down. When that timer expires the demo is over, this will give players a chance to get a feel for how the game plays without getting to far into the game. Along with this info we received a brief store description offering a better glance of what to expect.
“This specially tuned demo allows you to experience the newly re-imagined Resident Evil 2, but be warned: whilst you can continue as many times as you like after dying, you’ll only have 30 MINUTES to complete the demo. Take in the horror atmosphere at your own pace, or make a desperate dash to solve all the puzzles Raccoon Police Department has to offer? The choice is yours! Originally released in 1998, Resident Evil 2, one of the most iconic games of all time, returns completely re-imagined for next-gen consoles. – Play individual campaigns for both Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield using an all new 3rd person view – Explore the zombie infested areas of Raccoon City, now stunningly re-built using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine. – New puzzles, storylines and areas Note: This demo is available until 1/31/2019. You must be signed in and have an active internet connection to play.”Â
Everything we have seen from Resident Evil 2 Remake has been insanely impressive, from its trailers and gameplay showcases, to its insane collectors edition. It really feels like Capcom has a great understanding of the love fans of the series have for this title.
