Reports surface that Studio Madhouse has horrid working conditions

Lately, the anime industry has been buzzing with excitement. From the brand new releases of series such as Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland and others. Not to mention the returning series like Re: Zero, Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and in particular One Punch Man. One Punch Man is was arguably the most anticipated series coming back this year, that is until news broke regarding that studio madhouse will no longer be focusing on the project.

Many fans were upset about this and wondered why the acclaimed studio will not be continuing the series. Now it seems that we might have an inkling as to why. The reports have come in regarding the working conditions over at studio madhouse. Reports claiming that their employees have been working in poor conditions, working over 200+ hours of overtime. Along with one of the production assistants collapsing and being taken to the hospital. Mind you this is all in a single month according to the reports.

Staff members also claimed that they were forced to work on their off days as well as holidays when the production schedule was delayed. As we all know the animators and authors in Japan make little to no money and have always worked in these conditions to provide us with entertainment. The studio’s in Japan are struggling to find animators which leave a void in staff which then leads to overworking of the current staff employed. Hopefully, things get better as we all don’t want any one of these talented people to suffer. Also, check out an article I wrote going more in-depth on the hardships and struggled regarding the manga authors as well as animators in the industry here.
