According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, (do note the report requires a subscription to read) Nintendo is planning to make some hardware improvements to the Switch and a revised Nintendo Switch is coming in 2019.
They cite concern at Nintendo that Switch sales could be slowing down by the end of 2019. Possible hardware improvements include a more efficient battery, a thinner device and a higher-quality LCD screen. According to the Wall Street Journal’s report, this revised Nintendo Switch could arrive anywhere from Summer 2019 to Fall 2019.
Nintendo is known for releasing revised hardware, such as the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL. At the end of the day, any changes are unlikely to be extreme, such as adding more RAM or overhauling the processing power. We’ll have to wait and see what Nintendo announces over the next few months.
