Immediately after showing off game footage from Halo 5: Guardians Microsoft quietly introduced a brand new IP developed by the makers of Metroid Prime and spearheaded by the legendary game designer, Keiji Inafune of Mega Man fame. While they didn’t show any gameplay, we did get a detailed trailer of a young woman named Joule making her way across the desert with her robotic companion before being attacked by spider-like bots.
This new game, Recore, is scheduled to launch during the spring of 2016 and we still don’t know much about it. While we are eagerly awaiting details and hopefully some gameplay footage, one interesting detail about Recore has surfaced. The lead writer for the game is none other than Joseph Staten, previously the design director for Destiny.
Staten worked at Bungie for 15 years and worked on the original Halo game. He left Bungie late last year and accepted a position as Senior Creative Director at Microsoft. It is unclear when Staten began work on Recore.
