Rachel McAdams Has Confirmed Doctor Strange Role

 

Rumours had been circulating for weeks and today, Rachel McAdams confirmed that she has been cast alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange. The actress is well known for her roles in Sherlock Holmes (Irene Adler), The Notebook (Allie Hamilton) and True Detective (Ani Bezzerides), and revealed the developments in the Marvel movie’s rosta in an interview with The Wrap. This information has since been confirmed by EW.

It’s still unclear as to what McAdams’ role in the film will be, although the leading theory is that she will play Clea Strange’s lover. Doctor Strange is the fourteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to star Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tila Swinton. It was officially confirmed by Fiege at D23 that Ejiofor and Swinton were playing Baron Mordo and The Ancient One respectively. There have also been rumours that Mads Mikkelsen is in talks with Marvel Studios to play the film’s villain.
