Aksys Games is localizing Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly and Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk for North America. They aim to have these otome visual novels available on Vita in 2018.
The first game in the series starts with the amnesiac protagonist waking up in a strange mansion. It is not long before a monster attacks her. As she flees, she eventually encounters a group of men with odd guns and missing memories of their own. In order to return to a normal life, the group must participate in the “Black Butterfly Hunt” and collect “Kaleidoscope Shards” from the monsters. As with other titles from Idea Factory’s Otomate brand, players can expect romance amidst the action and mystery.
The protagonist of Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk is a young woman whose right eye turns red when she experiences strong emotions. In her town, the populace considers any females with red eyes to be witches. To avoid persecution, she disguises herself as a boy with one eye and lives in the nearby forest. In this way, she manages to live in peace, until one day a mysterious treasure goes missing. This incident eventually leads to the protagonist learning the secret of her birth. Of course, this title includes romance as well.
