The announcement of the PS4 Pro was accompanied by several mentions of 4K resolution. Games could be displayed in 4K resolution and so could video streamed from Netflix and YouTube. However, Sony did not mention Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and it turns out there was a reason for that. The PS4 Pro doesn’t play them.
Journalists such as Richard Lawler at End Gadget and the good people over at Stuff.TV made it a point to ask if we could watch Ultra HD Blu-ray movies on our PS4 Pro systems and the answer was no.
Confirmed: No Ultra HD Blu-ray in the PS4 Pro. Only 4K video via streaming/apps. https://t.co/yF8L0zE2LM

You will still be able to stream 4K video over the previously mentioned Netflix and YouTube apps but you may want to think twice before investing in an Ultra HD movie disc collection.
