Sony has revealed that Playstation Network now attracts more than 70 million active users per month – Over 18 million more than their main rival, Microsoft. The information was released during Sony’s annual corporate strategy meeting in Tokyo which analyses their performance for the upcoming fiscal year.
Other interesting tidbits of information from the meeting include:
- PS4 users collectively play their consoles for over 600 million hours per week
- Playstation Plus has gained 5.6 million subscribers throughout the fiscal year (26.4 million in total)
- Sony plans on enhancing the content of the subscription service in order to improve the service and increase its subscriber base.
The success of PlayStation Network is to be expected given the sales of the Playstation 4 console and the plethora of exclusive titles that Sony has secured for the system.
