The train that is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds just won’t stop. Today, Major Nelson shared an update from Sammie Kang of PUBG Corp., who excitedly confirmed that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has over 4 million Xbox One Players. This update comes just a couple of weeks after the Xbox version of the game hit 3 million players.
Here’s what else Sammie Kang had to say:Â
We’re thrilled to see the community continue to grow and have been inspired by everyone’s enthusiasm for the game – with your ongoing support and feedback we will continue to evolve PUBG and create the best experience for Xbox players. This week we deployed the sixth content update for the game, delivering numerous gameplay, optimization and bug fixes. More details on all the updates we’ve made since launch can be found here.
In celebration of this incredibly high playercount, 30,000 Battle Points are being given to all players, for free. Anyone who has already purchased PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One, or purchases it by January 31st, 2018, will be eligible for these free points.
To say the this game has been a success would be a serious understatement. I have to imagine both Microsoft and PUBG Corp. are extremely happy with these results. If they continue to provide updates and patches while listening to the community feedback, it’s hard to imagine this success stopping anytime soon.
