No Man’s Sky has officially been delayed until August 9th. Hello Games founder Sean Murray posted today on the PlayStation Blog and told the world his game would be postponed until August. Over the last few days fans have been going insane since no one had officially announced anything about the delay.
For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up.
Sean Murray stated on the PlayStation Blog the real reasons for this delay:
“However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.”
So it is done and over with. No Man’s Sky will not be releasing on June 21st as originally announced. Instead it will come out on August 9th for NA, August 10th for EU, and finally on August 12th for the UK. This is actually the best news any fan of this game could hear. The fact that this small team who has put so much of their own lives into this game are willing to hold off on the release date to make sure everything is perfect is amazing. Let us know in the comment section below how you feel about the delay.
