We have had many turnaround stories this generation, from games launching disastrously and then through perseverance and feedback become something special. Rainbow Six Siege, Final Fantasy XIV and Sea of Thieves are all games that instantly come to mind. However, there may be no bigger redemption story this generation then No Man’s Sky. After what’s considered one of the most overhyped/disappointing launches of this generation, Hello Games and studio head Sean Murray fell under massive fire. Instead of giving up on No Man’s Sky, they doubled down and worked hard to bring the game into the vision they had promised. The massive “Next” update brought every feature that was promised and then some, Hello Games wasn’t done though.
On August 14th, the “Beyond” update will be coming to No Man’s Sky players on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. With this update, online multiplayer will be coming to the game. Previously the game had co-op, but with the Beyond update, they plan to bring more players together to explore the magical procedurally generated universe. The most exciting feature that is coming with this update is that PSVR and SteamVR users will be able to experience No Man’s Sky in virtual reality. The sheer scale of the world through VR could make No Man’s Sky one of the most amazing VR experiences to date. Today, we got an official look at a new trailer for the Beyond update. Check out the trailer below and markdown August 14th on your calendar for an even more expansive No Man’s Sky experience.
