Nintendo has certainly been keeping themselves busy. The gaming giant has renewed trademarks for several classic video game franchises associated with their prior consoles according to Trademark Bot on Twitter:

The renewed trademarks are for the following intellectual properties:
It is important to note that a trademark does not necessarily mean that new games for all of these franchises are in development. For all we know, most of these could be intended for use in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo Switch. With that said, there hasn’t been a new F-Zero game since 2003 and it sure would be nice to have a new entry.
There has been talk that Retro Studios is working on a racing game spin-off for the Star Fox franchise but there has been no official announcement of this title and we should take those leaks with a grain of salt for now.
Thanks, ResetEra.
