Nintendo tops the list of the 500 richest companies in Japan according to Toyo Keizai, a weekly magazine focused on business and economics. Nintendo is apparently sitting on a colossal pile of cash reserves that total nearly 950 billion Yen. The other big console company in Japan, Sony, ranks in fourth place on Toyo Kezai’s list. It must be pointed out that the bulk of Nintendo’s business is from video games whereas Sony has other business lines such as movies and cameras.
Expect Nintendo’s mountain of cash to expand due to the massive popularity of the Switch.
