Hardware

Many of their games also saw major success. Before we take a look at those, lets give some credit to their Hardware. NES Classic shipped 1.26 million units in June ALONE! Nintendo Labo came in with 1.39 million units overall. Nintendo Switch is very close to hitting 20 million in total sales with 18.8 million sold year-on-year. 3DS sold 0.36 million units, a 61.9% decrease from last year.

Nintendo Fiscal Year Chart

Software

Nintendo truly did have a great fiscal year, a key part to that was because of their popular library of games. All figures are “Shipped” meaning they have gone out to retailers and do not mean sold to consumers. Here is a list of games that topped their charts and these numbers are accurate as of June 30th 2018.

  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze – 1.4million
  • Mario Tennis Aces – 1.38 million
  • Xenoblade Chronicales 2 – 1.42 million
  • Splatoon 2 – 6.76 million
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 10.35 million
  • Super Mario Odyssey – 11.17 million
  • The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild – 9.32 million
