What’s up everybody and welcome to the Nintendo News Roundup. Did you miss any of the news regarding Nintendo this week? Well, look no further. Here you’ll find the important news, not so important news, and Nintendo things that are just news to me.
Is the Nintendo NX using cartridges instead of discs?
The guys over at Screencritics.co.uk have reported a rumor that the Nintendo NX  may be ditching discs in favor of cartridges. ROM chips manufacturer Macronix seems to big getting a bigger bump in orders from long time partner Nintendo. This would normally amount to nothing more than producing Nintendo 3DS cartridges: Maybe for the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon perhaps? However, Macronix has recently been testing its new line of 32 nm ROM chips; The 3DS uses 75 nm ROM chips. So, take that however you want too. Is it a good idea for the Nintendo NX to go cartridge? Probably not, but it does seem like a very Nintendo thing to do. You can read the full story right here.
Nintendo’s plan for E3
Nintendo seems to be ditching not only the stage at E3, but their normal E3 Nintendo Direct as well. Per Mynintendonews.com, they will instead opt to have a day long Nintendo Treehouse: Live. The show will be kicked off by Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie “my body is ready” Fils-Aime. The live stream starts at 9 am PT sharp on June 14. With Nintendo going all in on only Zelda this year at E3. All I can say is it better be mind blowing. You can read the full story here.

Players looking to find a rare Pokemon this month don’t have to look that hard. The Mythical Pokemon Darkrai is available to everyone through May 1st – May 24th. All players need to do is travel to a local Gamestop and pick up a code card. Redeem that code in your game and the Darkrai is all yours. Not sure if you need Darkrai for your team? Pocket Card Jockey out now
Anybody ever want to play Solitaire and thought that adding horse racing to it would make it way better? Me neither, but somebody at Gamefreak did. The developers of Pokemon have released their new game Pocket Card Jockey on May 5 for the Nintendo 3DS. Is it amazing? I have no idea, but the seemingly odd combo of Solitaire and horse racing is rather intriguing. If only just to see if it actually works. So if you’ve got a Nintendo 3DS and want to try something new, here’s something new…and weird. Check out the launch trailer below.
GameStop CEO talks about Nintendo NX and disappointment with the Wii U
Alistdaily.com recently sat down with Gamestop CEO Paul Raines. In the Interview Raines speaks about new consoles, VR, and the Nintendo NX. He also touches on the his thoughts on the Wii U saying:
Wii U was disappointing to everybody, including them. They made some bold bets, and maybe some of them didn’t work out. But they have a lot of creativity there. They’re a very innovative group of people, so we never count out Nintendo.

#OperationPlatinum may have been a success
For anybody that doesn’t no, #OperationPlatinum was started by Nintendo fans in order to help Bayonetta 2, developed by Platinum Games, reach a million in sales. Released September of 2014 and after 20 months Bayonetta 2 may have finally reached one million copies sold worldwide according to unofficial data source VGChartz. I say may only because the source is VGChartz. If the data is to be believed all i can is better late than never, but seriously it’s a very good game. I have my copy and thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. It doesn’t hurt that it also came with the original Bayonetta at no additional cost. You can see the numbers right here.
That isn’t all the Nintendo news stories, but those are the important ones to me. If you feel like I’ve missed anything Nintendo related that happend this week that is important or just important to you, please feel free to share them in the comments below.
