In early 2018, Nintendo announced that they would be bringing Mario Kart to mobile devices for the first time ever with the title Mario Kart Tour. When announced, there were no additional details about the game at all, just that the game existed and was in the works.
Yesterday, Nintendo finally announced that they’d be releasing beta applications. From now until May 7th, anyone interested in applying for the beta may sign up directly from the game’s official site, where you can see details through a QR code on the page. There are a limited number of slots for this beta, so those interested in signing up should do so sooner than later. While the game will be available for iOS users, the beta will only be available exclusively for Android users in Japan and the US.
The beta is scheduled to be available from May 22nd to June 4th, though the site does note that these dates may change. In addition, while there is no specific date for the release yet, it’s confirmed to release summer of 2019, along with their other mobile game Doctor Mario.
Although there is a general release time and now beta applications, there are still no additional details given from Nintendo about the game. Though it’s a big title to be releasing on mobile, Nintendo has been relatively successful with their previous mobile releases such as Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. Despite this title being a mystery, there are high hopes that it will taken well by players.
Applications for the Mario Cart Tour beta are only available until May 7th, so be sure to sign up here before they close.
