Next ‘Zelda’ to Launch on Wii U and NX

At their quarterly financial report, not only did Nintendo announce that the NX will launch next March, but they also announced that the next Legend of Zelda game will come out simultaneously on Wii U and NX.

As the Tweet above states, the new game will also be the focus of their E3 this year. The Wii U version of the game will be playable on the show floor, with the NX version to be shown off later.

While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, the new game will most likely be released alongside the launch of the NX console. The next big Zelda game being a launch title would certainly help the NX out.

The game launching on both Wii U and NX may seem weird to some people, but Nintendo did the same thing with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as that game came out on both the GameCube and the Wii. The GameCube version was the preferred version, so it will be interesting to see which erosion of this game fans like more.

This new Zelda game was announced all the way back in 2011, when the Wii U was first announced so it’s been in development for a long time. It will be incredibly exciting to see what Nintendo has in-store for this legendary franchise in June.
