Trusted industry insider Ekim, has announced the impending arrival of several backwards compatible titles. Ekim’s track record in accurately naming these games has not been wrong yet. Announcing the new titles before the official Microsoft press release has brought Ekim credibility when it comes to the ever growing list of Xbox backwards compatible games. If his prediction does come to fruition the new titles will be going live on the 21st of July.
Here are the new backwards compatible games the industry insider believes are joining the Xbox marketplace:
- Sonic 4 Ep.1&2
- Fret Nice
- Bionic Commando Rearmed 2
- Crystal Defenders
- NEOGEO BATTLE COLISEUM
- Capcom Arcade Cabinet
- Pacman Museum
The games join just as Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption made its way to the Xbox One. Not only was Red Dead a financial success on its first release, the backwards compatible re-release increased sales of the hit video game on Amazon by nearly 5000%. As an added incentive Rockstar made the extra downloadable content for the game free. With the success the backwards compatible program has had, it would be a business mistake for any studio to overlook the financial benefits of re-releasing old games.
