New Star Wars: Battlefront DLC Announced; Both Free And Paid

At its launch Star Wars: Battlefront was meet with criticism as many players felt that the game lacked content. It looks like DICE and EA have heard that complaint as they have just announced a whole slate of content that includes both free DLC and paid DLC.

The new additions kick off tomorrow with a free update that will include new Hoth inspired costumes for Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, the Tatooine survival map being available to play in regular matches, private matches being introduced and the introduction of Daily Challenges and Community Events. The two new costumes were actually unlocked by the community in an event that happened last month.

February will be a Hoth centered month as there will be a new survival map and a larger game mode map for the icy planet. The Turning Point game mode will also be made available on all large-scale maps instead of just the Jakku map.

March will bring a new map on Endor for the larger game modes, as well as a new survival map for Tatooine.

March will also be the beginning of the paid DLC. This new DLC will bring new maps, game modes, heroes and weapons to the game. The first DLC pack is called Star Wars: Battlefront – Outer Rim, it will feature maps set in the factories of Sullust as well as Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

Summer 2016 will bring us the Bespin DLC pack which will feature maps set in Cloud City. Fall 2016 will have the Death Star pack and there’s untitled DLC pack set to come out in early 2017.

It looks like Star Wars fans will have a lot to look forward to over the next year as the fight between the Empire and Rebel Alliance continues!

Star Wars: Battlefront is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. You can read our review of it here.
