In case you haven’t heard, the name of the newest flick in the Terminator franchise is Terminator: Dark Fate and it reunites some of the original talent that gave birth to the series. Produced by James Cameron, the movie features Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger who are reprising their roles as Sarah Connor and the venerable Terminator, respectively. Some new photos from the production were released and we finally have a look at these characters back in action.
It is no secret that the once great Terminator franchise has hit a few low points. There is hope for this new movie though. The plot ignores every film in the saga from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines to Terminator: Genisys and even The Sarah Connor Chronicles television series. It is a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day. “I’m sure every action filmmaker says that, but I did really try and focus on the relationships of these characters to one another. And the fact that Linda came back makes this particular Terminator fresh, this story could only continue with her in the role of Sarah Connor,” said director David Miller. “Linda reinvented this character in a way that both honors who she was before and brings something new to the role.”
