There’s a new Far Cry game being teased for the Game Awards 2018. Ubisoft released a teaser trailer today and it indicates the series is going in a completely new direction.

A man says “None of us were ready for the end. The flames devoured everything.” This, combined with the imagery of a nuclear bomb and some sort of crossbow weapon all indicate a post-apocalyptic Far Cry title.
The Far Cry series is not new to spinoffs, after all, Far Cry Primal took the series to the Ice Age with mammoths and tribes. The DLCs have also often been bizarre spinoffs, such as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. With that said, Far Cry 5 released earlier this year and has been selling extremely well, so it’ll be interesting to see when this new game releases.
We’ll definitely learn more during The Game Awards 2018, which air on December 6th, 2018 at 8:30 p.m. EST.
