If you enjoyed the Netflix live action adaptation of the Death Note anime you will be pleased to know that a sequel is currently in development. Ted Sorandos, the chief of marketing for Netflix, called the Death Note adaptation a “sizable success”. That makes sense given the amount of hype that was built up before the movie’s release. However, most anime and manga fans beg to differ and many of them claim that the Netflix version of Death Note is nearly as bad as the terrible Dragon Ball Evolution.
Greg Russo will be writing the script for the sequel. Netflix’s live action Death Note movie was released back in 2017 and ended with a cliffhanger so it will be interesting to see exactly what they do with the story going forward.
As of now there is no information regarding the release of the sequel or if most of the original cast will be returning but we will be sure to update you as soon as more information is released. If you’re interested in seeing the live action film , please check it out on Netflix.
