My Hero Academia Live Action Film Announced

The time has finally come for My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi will be the next manga series to be adapted into a live-action film. Legendary is the studio behind the My Hero Academia live action film with Alex Garcia and Jay Ashenfelter serving as the directors. Ryosuke Yoritomi will also oversee the production of the film and Toho Animation will distribute it.

Live action films in the past have been a constant source of disappointment among fans of various anime and manga series. With our fingers crossed we can only hope that this one turns out at least half way decent. However, with adaptations such as Dragon Ball Evolution, Death Note and others I think it will be best for us all to keep our expectations as low as possible.

If you’re unfamiliar with My Hero Academia series, here is a brief description: “Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.”
