Xbox has made a huge push in support for its features and accessibility on the Xbox One. This is why the announcement of mouse and keyboard support for Xbox One should not come as a surprise to many. On Inside Xbox today, Phil Spencer spoke on the next step in peripherals for the Xbox One family of consoles. Starting in preview, mouse and keyboard support will start in October with the massive free to play game Warframe. More games will be coming and announced in November most likely at the recently unveiled XO18 Event coming to Mexico City.
Xbox is working in partnership with Razer, to bring the best mouse and keyboard support to the Xbox One. Mouse and keyboard support will be up to the developers choice on whether the game will support it or not. Leaving it up to developers on how to divide the player base in keeping the competition between keyboard versus controller on an even field. Xbox will reportedly be able to be used with a wide variety of USB keyboards which will be announced at a later date. Though due to the partnership with Razer, it is definitely safe to assume that there will be some officially licensed Xbox keyboards and mice on the way. With more details on games and hardware support coming at a later date, it is great to see a highly demanded feature coming to Xbox One.
