Microsoft updated their Backwards Compatibility list this week, and announced that they will no longer give full lists every month, but will just allow games to become available when publishers authorise these games on Xbox One.
Microsoft also made The Witcher 2 free for Xbox One owners, as an olive branch to apologize for the lacklustre content becoming backwards compatible. It’s not known why publishers are reluctant to authorise more big titles, but we might see more games come through once Microsoft integrates the Xbox 360 game store into the NXE dashboard and store. This week they pushed out another bunch of Arcade titles, and hopefully soon we’ll see more AAA blockbusters like Red Dead and Skyrim show up.
