We’ve had surprisingly little marketing for the upcoming Defenders show from Marvel and Netflix. The four heroes: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will team up to defend the city from Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious villain. Unfortunately, that’s all we really know so far. There’s been a trailer which didn’t reveal much and a handful of images, but that’s all. Recently, Marvel finally amped it up a little and released not only a simple yet cool new poster for the series (which drops on August 18th) but also a few motion posters too.
Check out the black and white poster here:
Even better are the motion posters which popped up on the characters’ individual Twitter accounts as well as on the group Defenders account. Here’s the unlikely team coming together for a group poster:

It doesn’t give anything away, but it’s great to see the hype machine begin on what should be an excellent series. The individual Twitter accounts of the characters merely have elongated versions of their own motion posters. However, they are worth checking out for a completely different reason: the interactions between these fictional characters in the comments. You know it’s just a bunch of Marvel interns messing around, but it’s still hilarious, not least Jessica Jones and Daredevil on this Iron Fist tweet.
All 8 episodes of The Defenders will be available to stream on Netflix starting August 18th 2017.
