NIS America has announced that they will be publishing Kadokawa’s The Lost Child in Europe and North America. This dungeon crawler RPG for the PS4 and Vita comes from the mind of Takeyasu Sawaki. Previously, Sawaki worked as director and character designer for El Shaddai: Ascention of the Metatron. Incidentally, the story of this new game happens to be connected to that earlier title.
From NIS America:
Occult journalist Hayato Ibuki encounters a strange girl during his investigations into a series of mysterious suicides in Tokyo. She implores that Hayato must live, before bestowing upon him a mystical device that allows him to capture celestial and arcane creatures. He is now thrust into a world beyond our own, home to horrific monsters and celestial beings. In it, he must delve into dungeons called Layers and solve the mystery of the device. Where his journey leads him could decide the fate of our world…
- Mythology Unbound — Features 50+ entities from myths and legends to capture, each with 3 unique forms to progress through!
- Spread the Wealth of Knowledge — There are more than 250 skills to learn and distribute among your party of captured Astrals.
- The Infinite Abyss Awaits — Test yourself against massive dungeons with up to 99 floors of deathly dangers!
As with most games from the publisher, a limited edition version will be available. However, this physical package will only be available for PS4. As of this writing, the stock for North America is already below 50%, so those who wish to get it should probably order soon. The contents include:
- The game itself
- The official soundtrack on CD
- A hardcover art book
- A box
The Lost Child does not have a firm release date, but NIS America intends on having it ready sometime in 2018.
