Homefront: The Revolution Getting “At Least a Year’s Worth” of Free DLC

GameSpot recently interviewed Homefront: The Revolution game designer Fasahat Salim where he dropped a bomb about post-launch content.

Dambuster Studios and publisher Deep Silver plan to introduce new missions for free, going against tide of controversial season pass and map packs, which are becoming staples of modern shooters.

“Everything that’s available in the game is available for free, and even after release we’re going to continue to be delivering missions, drip-feeding them into the community for at least a year,” the designer explained. “There’s always going to be new content delivered for free, players are going to have lots of stuff to dig their teeth into.

Salim said, “We’re not doing any sort of packs. We’re not making map packs or anything like that. As we’re done with a mission, we’re going to release it, the community can go ahead and play it, and we’re going to keep doing that for at least a year after release.”

The free missions will likely be released post-launch and will find their way in the newly announced Resistance mode, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

Homefront: The Revolution is set for launch on May 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Linux, and Mac in North America, and May 20 for all other regions.
