Microsoft officially broke the silence on the week one sales of Halo 5: Guardians. According to Microsoft, the latest in the massive Halo franchise raked in more than $400 Million in it’s first week. This puts the entire Halo franchise at a whopping $5 Billion. As a comparison, Destiny managed to rake in $500 Million during it’s first week on 4 platforms.

Fans have managed to rake in 21 Million hours of gameplay in one week, including 12 Million hours in the campaign mode alone. Multiplayer raked in 9 Million hours on Arena and the new Warzone map. 7 Million matches have been played across all modes. The new Req system in Halo 5 proves popular too with over 45 Million Req Packs acquired by players over the week.

“The success of Halo 5: Guardians is a testament to the innovative work from the entire team at 343 Industries to bring this installment to Xbox One and the incredible community of fans who have come to love the story, characters and gameplay central to the franchise,” said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox. “The game represents all the possibilities of Xbox One and has earned its place as the anchor title in the greatest holiday games lineup in Xbox history.”

Last week’s Halo 5: Guardians Live Stream Launch event broke the Guinness World Record for the most watched Video Game Broadcast with a total of 330000 unique streams and a total of 5.5 Million unique views.
